IN THE BEGINNING - 4 - 5 WEEKS

Hi Everyone -

So many of Oliver's aunties and friends seem to have missed the bulk of the photos of when he was very young and very tiny.

What you are seeing in these pics is not a two or three day old kitten but the miracle Mighty Mouse between 4 and 5 weeks.

Hard to believe now that he weighed just 210 grams at 4 weeks

For the first 4 weeks that I had him he was fed every hour 24/7 and spent his time sleeping in my bra or inside my dressing gown so that he could hear my heart beat. I had only ever hand raised one kitten before and that was 34 years ago.

When I look at him now it is hard to believe this tiny weird looking creature survived at all...let alone grew into the beautiful Oliver.

He'll be back tomorrow with his thought for the day and tomorrow a Classic adventure from the Archives!

A LITTLE EDUCATION.

Hallo everyone -
I'm sorry we've been absent for a while. Oliver is growing in leaps and bounds and is always learning something new. Today it's reading - but I'm not sure he's actually getting educated.

I think it's going to take more than spectacles to stop this little boy making a spectacle of himself!

And of course - as soon as he thought there was no-one looking....

And i give him extra points for bluffing his way through when he's sprung.

So if I see David Balducci's name on the cover I'll assume it's William Shakespeare!

He and D'Arcy still have to tackle Arithmetic....heaven help us!

Hello ebbwybodi,

Sum of yew don't know the uvver katz in mise family. So I finked I should interjuice yew and tells yew a liddle bit about dem.

Dis my Uncle Whooshka. Sum sez he is a Tonkinese - sum sez he is a applehead Siamese....I fink he's a applehead cos he's so apeeling! Get it? Apple Peel...hehehe
He was a stray on de streets and Mummy and Daddy took him in....dere furst cat tergever. Dat was five years ago. He is de bestest Uncle in de World and maybe eben de bestest cat cos he looks after all of us but he bewwy bewwy gentle. He got a funny miaow tho. He sound like a gal! ( don't tell him I sed dat!)


De ubber free kitties is all called Mesmereyes.... dat dere breeders name but I fink she my Auntie Carole.

Dey is all bewwy bootiful Burpmillas - a speshel breed. They all comed to our place as adult cats being rehomed cos Auntie Carole knew my Mum ( who is crazy cat lady) and my Dad ( who nearly crazy cat lady) would love dem heaps and gib dem good homes.

De furst one is D'Arcy...my bestes fwend in de hole wurl...he like my big bruvver and we plays all day long - an sometimes all night too...hehehehehe

Mummy say he a lubly boy but a big sook...whatebber dat means.

Dis is my bewwy bootiful Auntie Millie. Daddy sez she got "cometobed eyes" but I don't know why she want to come to bed in de mawning. She only juz got up! Sumtimez she like me....sometimes she don't.

Dis Burpmilla is Auntie Soraya...she a princess and a queen and a grumpy bum. Mummy call her Devil Diva sumtimez. She smackz me sumtimez and she was bewwy bewwy nasty to D'Arcy...always fights him and eben left TWO of her claws stuck in his head. He cwied and cwied. We finked maybe we have to send her away but now she being a GOOD Diva and she don't hurt D'Arcy any more.

She bewwy speshal to Mummy and she fink she de favwit....But I fink mez de favwit.

So dat's all my kitty family. I hope you liked meeting them. We's all pretty good lookin isn't we?

It's been a strange weekend but Olivers eye infection seems to have cleared up and he and D'Arcy have been having lots of cuddle time. I don't know what they're up to - but they don't seem to want company.

She had gone - and he was alone

To add insult to injury she left him with an eye infection. Lucky it wasn't worse. Poor Boy!

Hi Everyone,
Oliver and the family have just come back from his first holiday - on Victoria's Phillip Island - famous for it's wild penguin colony. The little blue ( yes, that's right - blue) penguins are so pretty and just adorable. And obviously our boy thought so too. But we all know holidays are the time for romance.

I reall did try to be tactful but I had to mention that his new love was....to put it bluntly ...stuffed!

But Oliver Lord Monta Purrington still thinks he's Mighty Mouse - and he won't be told!

And Idon't think Gwen was entirely truthful with him

A CLASSIC - THE DANCE CLASS

Hi everyone. Tonight, a classic from about 6 weeks ago.
Mighty Mouse's best friend is D'Arcy - a beautiful Burmilla who is 9 months older than him. D'Arcy is very classy and decided that MM should be a well rounded gentleman kitty. So he decided to give the boy dancing lessons.

MM - or Oliver as he is mostly known - wasn't that enthusiastic...especially when the dancing seemed a bit...well...naughty

And then it got downright dangerous

Poor little boy just didn't have the stamina....or the rhythm!

A KITTY'S WORK IS NEVER DONE

Hi Everyone...I am lecturing in screenwriting at Open Channel two nights a week at present - plus my writing - which means there's not a lot of time to get things done at home. Fortunately I have a WONDERFUL (???) Helper!


To Mighty Mouse this was just a green whirry thing....the concept of TV specials escapes him.


After he'd finished breaking ornaments - he decided to help load the dishwasher!

And then of course - he helped get the washing out of the dryer.

On a scale of 1 - 10 Lord Oliver Purrington AKA Mighty Mouse scored a whopping TWO!

Does anyone know a good cleaning lady?
